Job Description:

Here, you’ll have the opportunity to direct our ambulatory EMR group, ensuring effective and confidential maintenance of critical patient information.

 

As the Director of Ambulatory EMR, you will manage all activities of the ambulatory EMR group. Your exceptional team will develop and support electronic medical records for outpatient clinical sites at NYU Langone Medical Center and affiliated practices, while maintaining the legacy EMR. This includes support of the Epic patient information system at NYU Hospital Systems FGP and affiliated clinics. You will supervise up to twenty team members and large-scale projects with numerous operational and clinical stakeholders.

 

In this position, you will develop tactical/strategic vision for use, configuration, architecture and engineering of the application. Your duties will include managing and delegating responsibilities among team members; maintaining appropriate support infrastructure; planning and advocating for staffing and compensation adjustments; maintaining accurate financial records; preparing capital and operating budgets; participating in marketing and promotions; maintaining current knowledge of NYULMC EMR and other hardware, software and applications which may enhance the system; delivering on-time and on-budget system implementations; strategizing for customer satisfaction; and communicating with users to understand requirements and needed enhancements.

 

To qualify you must have a bachelor’s degree and five years’ experience in healthcare. Excellent communication skills and at least two years’ experience in a supervisory role with electronic medical records or related technology is required. Preferred candidates will have a master’s degree in business or public administration, public health or a related field, and a minimum eight years’ healthcare experience with four years in management.
