IT Project Manager - EMR Healthcare

General Description:

A leading IT healthcare systems integrator seeks a Sr. Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of several complex moderate to large size projects through all of the defined phases of the project life cycle. This includes implementations of new clinical and business applications, system upgrades, application rollouts, and infrastructure and networking projects. The Sr. Project Manager interacts with the Project Office, Client Executives, Product Managers and customers. He/She manages a cross functional team of product experts and associates while they are assigned to a project. External consultants, contracted resources, and customer employees may also report in to project teams during the project lifecycle. The Senior Project Manager has management responsibility for one or more Project Managers and oversees the projects for which they are responsible. The Senior Project Manager is responsible to mentor and coach less experienced team members. The Project Manager provides outstanding client service and contributes to the organization*s mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care.

Responsibilities include:

* Develop and maintain the project work plan based on information from Product Managers

* Coordinate the deliverable and project specific activities performed by cross-functional project teams

* Work to control change, adjust the budget, timeline, and project scope to accommodate approved changes

* Identify and escalate project risks and issues

* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all key internal stakeholders including Customer Executives, Product Managers and Resource Manager

* Manages all resources assigned to projects to achieve project goals and satisfy cutomers

* Develop customer Return on Investment metrics for projects, based on customer objectives.

* Coordinates the provision of implementation strategies and detailed estimates to support new sales campaigns

Requirements:

* BA/BS degree required.

* Experience managing all phases of multifaceted clinical IT projects including planning, cost management, resource management, communications, and quality measurement

* Systems implementations in the clinical and business application areas are required

* Experience in implementation management is required, EMR implementation is a plus

* IT experience in the healthcare industry is required, a hospital environment is a plus

* Demonstrated formal project management methodology experience is required, PMP certification is preferred

* Proficiency in project management planning tools.

* Demonstrated experience of managing cross-functional teams/matrix management is required

* Experience managing individual projects of $3 million

* Experience managing a project management staff is required

* Excellent customer service and verbal and written communication skills are required

* Ability to effectively communicate within all levels of the organization and with the client base

* Must be well organized, detail oriented, highly analytical and possess strong problem solving skills

* Must be able to enforce deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment

* A minimum of 7 years project management experience including experience in IT systems implementation management

* IT consulting or IT Professional Services experience is strongly preferred

* Clinical and/or operational healthcare experience is preferred
