Job Description:
Universal Health Services, Inc is one of the largest and most respected hospital management companies in the nation. Our principal business is owning and operating, through our subsidiaries, acute care hospitals, behavioral health centers, surgical hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and radiation oncology centers. As of June, 2009, we owned and/or operated or had under construction 26 acute care hospitals and 113 behavioral health centers in 32 states, Washington, DC and Puerto Rico.
UHS is beginning a major new project to replace large components of our Clinical Information Systems. As such, UHS is aggressively expanding our IT staffing levels by hiring up to 75 additional employees. These positions will be located at both our Corporate Headquarters in King of Prussia, PA and in our Acute Care Hospitals across the US. Currently the corporate IS department is staffed by more than 175 experienced healthcare IT professionals, including a number of employees with clinical licenses, degrees or certifications, including Nurses, Medical Technicians, and a Physician Consultant.
The Sr. Analyst will be responsible for the implementation activities related to UHS clinical applications. This includes coordination of Implementation Planning, Design, Testing, Training, Go-live and Support – Maintenance activities across the 24 UHS Acute Care facilities. At times the position will be responsible for hands on application configuration and related testing. Post go-live the position will assist in the monitoring facility issues and will be responsible to resolution of those issues. The position will also coordinate work assignments between team members in order to meet deadlines and ensure continued progress toward assignment completion.
Primary duties:
- Regularly meets with users, vendors, and IS staff to develop/modify system specifications
- Supervises development of test data, system testing and documentation for all phases of the application development life cycle
- Performs Q/A on application functionality
- Researches and resolves implementation-related Customer Support Center Tickets.
- Adheres to appropriate UHS Project Management standards
- Provides on call after hours support as required
Job Requirements

Three or more years of Clinical Information Systems experience in acute care, multi-facility setting

Working knowledge of clinical system application design, development, implementation, enhancement, support methods and practices

Ability to work with end users to determined software specifications, hardware requirements and process improvement workflows

Ability to create system documentation, project plans, test scripts and education materials

Working knowledge of project management methodology, ITIL and IS standards, change control, quality and system performance methods and metrics

General familiarity of end user business practices, concepts and terminology sufficient to support the clinical applications

Clinical and Application Knowledge Required. Registered Nurse or Clinical Experience Preferred

Project Management experience preferred

Ability to travel 25 - 40% domestically (depending on projects).
